Unidentified Passenger from Assam found dead on Vizag Railway Tracks

Guwahati: A body of an unidentified passenger was recovered on the railway tracks of Vizag in the wee hours of Monday by the Vizag Railway Protection Force (RPF).

As per railway sources, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) recovered two tickets from his possession which reads that the unidentified passenger had booked one General ticket from Nagaon to Guwahati and other from Guwahati to Secunderabad.

It may also be mentioned that as per the tickets, the person had traveled from Nagaon to Guwahati on January 2, 2019, and then booked another ticket from Guwahati to Secunderabad on January 3.

On being contacted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in charge, Surupalli Shyam from Vizag told The Sentinel Digital “We have recovered the body in the wee hours today and accordingly contacted the media at Nagaon in Assam. We have sent the body for post-mortem.”

Meanwhile, the matter was also taken up by the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Guwahati, OC Utpal Das had informed The Sentinel Digital that they have forwarded the matter to the Assistant Police Officer of Nagaon District and also briefed about the incident to the Nagaon GRP.
