TINSUKIA: The Union Minister for Natural Gas & Petroleum Rameswar Teli inaugurated the ‘Rehabilitation of Legacy Waste through Biomining’ at Tingrai dumping ground on Saturday in presence of senior officials of Tinsukia district administration and Oil India Limited (OIL).

The project constructed by OIL under its CSR scheme at the cost of Rs 3.1742 crore will meet the demand for proper disposal of solid waste. Among the dignitaries present in the inauguration programme were Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, Sawpneel Paul, Executive Director OIL, JP Das, chairman TMB Pabitra Gogoi, besides others.

A MoU was signed between OIL and Tinsukia administration in the beginning of this year in this regard. In course of time, the dumping ground will be converted into a park.

Another MoU was signed between Tinsukia district administration and OIL at the conference hall of DC’s office to protect erosion at Dighaltarang wherein the OIL will spend Rs 4.126 crore and in another MoU, the OIL will construct 21.6 km long road from Doomdooma to Baghjan.
