KOKRAJHAR: Rameswar Teli, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas, on Wednesday visited the villages in Dantol, Petlagaon, Kinaborgaon in Chirang district to look for a site to construct a bulk petroleum oil depot with wagon input facility to place products transferred from HPCL refinery in the State of Assam to meet the future demands.

Teli asked the Chirang Deputy Commissioner to acquire a 200-bigha plot of land for the said project. He also arranged a meeting with local people in this regard. He said in the meeting that the capacity of Bongaigaon Refinery will be expanded very soon. The Union Minister also looked for site for construction of a Railway flyover at the site of the project.

The meeting was chaired by Rwngwra Narzary, former MCLA, BTC, and vice-president of UPPL, and was attended by Joint Secretary Wilburn Daimary, officials of Chirang district and local leaders.
