BAKSA: After the attack on United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) president Promod Boro's convoy on Wednesday evening at Naigaon under Baokhungri constituency in Kokrajhar district, Tamulpur District UPPL on Thursday took out a protest rally at Tamulpur.

More than 1,000 UPPL leaders and workers gathered at Motonga Chowk on the Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan road and burnt the effigies of former BTC chief Hargrama Mohilary and Bodoland People's Front (BPF) candidate of Baokhungri constituency, Daneswar Goyari. The protesters raised slogans and blocked the Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan road for a while. Tamulpur district UPPL president Bipul Kumar Basumatary condemned the attack on Promod Boro's convoy. "It is an undemocratic action against UPPL. As election is a democratic process, people should cast their votes peacefully and choose their leaders," he said. He demanded immediate action against those behind the attack on Promod Boro's convoy.
