KOKRAJHAR: The United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) came down heavily on the president of Bodoland People's Front (BPF) Hagrama Mohilary for his alleged anti-BTR accord remarks and said that BPF had no political agenda to attract the common masses ahead of the BTC elections.

Addressing mediapersons at a press conference held at the UPPL party office in Kokrajhar on Tuesday, the vice-president of the UPPL, Mainul Haque and party secretary Wilson Hasda slammed Mohilary and said that Mohilary and his party BPF feared massive defeat in the ensuing BTC elections. Haque and Hasda said that Mohilary was misleading the people by saying that the BTR accord had nothing for the common masses. Mohilary on Monday allegedly said that the BTR accord had destroyed the Bodos and would finish the interest of the non-Bodos.

The UPPL leaders strongly condemned the remarks of Mohilary in his party meetings and said that Mohilary was indulging in 'immature' political lectures to garner support of non-Bodos ahead the council elections. The UPPL leaders said that the BTR accord was an outcome of inclusive social development and welfare for all communities in the BTR region.
