UPPL to protect and preserve language, culture of all communities: Pramod Boro

United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) president Pramod Boro on Wednesday asserted to work for the protection and preservation of the culture and language of every community residing in the Bodo belt.

TANGLA: United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) president Pramod Boro on Wednesday asserted to work for the protection and preservation of the culture and language of every community residing in the Bodo belt.

Attending a massive gathering event at Tangla HS playground in Tangla town ofUdalguri district, he assured that the UPPL would be a party with a difference and if voted to power, would take every citizen as stakeholder and no representatives would be allowed to gain power in absolute terms and thereby, transparent and people-friendly governance would be provided.

Boro said that he had joined politics to serve the people and not as a tool of gaining power. He alleged that the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) lacked vision and think-tanks and therefore, there were no industrial policies or skill development measures to mould the power of the educated unemployed youths in a positive manner.

Boro, while pointing out the issue of the age-old man-elephant conflict along the Indo-Bhutan border in Udalguri, assured towards working to resolve it. He further assured provincializing all the schools of the Bodo belt if UPPL was voted to power. Leader of disbanded NDFB (P) ,Govinda Basumatary, while addressing the gathering, said, "We are determined to strengthen the peace and unity in the region and pave the way for development."
