Various organizations distributed Food items among needy families at Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Various organizations, institutions and individuals under Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district have come forward in order to extend their helping hand to the poor and needy people during the ongoing lockdown period.

The members of the Dekasang and Samanway SHGs of Jalbhari village under Pachim Dhakuakhana Gaon Panchayat distributed food items and other essential commodities among 65 poor families under Ujani Jalbhari and Karaghat Chariali. Rice, dal, sugar, biscuits and soaps were distributed among the families by the SHGs.

Businessmen of Dhakuakhana, Bapi Lahon, Rahul Singh and Amarjyoti Baruah distributed hand wash and sanitizers among the police personnel, jawans of CRPF, battalions on duty and the working journalists.

On the other hand, a 13-year old boy of the subdivision has drawn the attention of people by his charity and generosity in this regard. This teenager named Bishnujyoti Bhorali, son of Chandra Kanta Borali and Deepti Bhorali, resident of Jalbhari village, did not celebrate his 13th birthday on April 7 and distributed food items among needy people by investing the money he had kept to celebrate his birthday. Accompanied by his father, the teenager distributed food items to 15 needy neighbouring families on his birthday. He further appealed to all to help those who were in need and to adhere to the lockdown advisories to contain the spread of the pandemic.

Responding to the appeal of the State Health and Finance Minister, the government employees of various villages under the subdivision distributed food items to the poor families. BEEO of Bordoloni (Ghilamora) Elementary Education Block, Gunin Dutta and Dhakuakhona PHE employee Jiten Dutta distributed food items among 36 poor families living at Kalakata village under the subdivision on Wednesday. These two government officials distributed rice, dal, potato, sugar, mustard oil, biscuits, soaps and salt among the families by carrying them on a pram themselves.
