GUWAHATI: Guwahati will be hosting two big events, Jhumoir Binandini and Advantage Assam 2.0, between February 24 and 26, 2025. In view of these events, the authorities have decided on strict regulations on vehicle movement for public safety, especially for vulnerable road users, and allowing free movement for emergency services.
For entry into the Sarusujai Sports Complex, spectators with GOLD Vehicle Passes must use Gate No. 1 B, where they can alight near the main roundabout and park at the Indoor Stadium. Those with DROP OFF Vehicle Passes will also enter through Gate No. 1 B but will park at AEGCL Parking via Gate No. 4. Essential service vehicles with GREEN Vehicle Passes are permitted through the same gate. Other cardholders should enter through Gate No. 1 C on foot. Notably, the route from Koinadhara to Jalukbari will be designated as a NO ESCORT/PILOT Vehicle Zone.
Vehicles with SAFFRON (Pentagon) Passes will enter through Gate No. 4 and get parked at the Regional Science Centre Campus. Rest of the pass holders will be provided with their respective drop points and parking locations, with Gate No. 10 opening after post-VVIP departure.
Also, commercial vehicles will be restricted on major roads in Guwahati with particular time periods specified for February 24-26, 2025, to reduce congestion and improve safety during the events.
