Golaghat: A leopard was killed by the villagers after it invaded the tea estate and attacked a few workers at the Bijuli tea field in Assam's Golaghat district.

According to reports, the villagers killed the leopard, while the injured person was transported to a nearby hospital.

The order is still in effect and will stay in effect until the tiger is captured by the forest Department near Borsola.

Last year in Dillibari, Assam's Dibrugarh district, villagers had killed a full-grown leopard and feasted on its meat. Before being killed, the leopard had hurt five people in the nearby Charaideo area.

The leopard was terrorizing the locals in Charaideo district's Sapekhati's Atal Randhali hamlet for several months, according to the villagers.

"The leopard killed five people in the vicinity, injuring them, and stealing cattle." After crossing the Disang, the leopard entered Dillibari, and the locals were terrified to leave their homes after dusk," a villager stated.
