HAFLONG: There are many reasons for the villagers of Dithur kachari village to be happy as their long cherished dream has come to be true with the ceremonial inauguration of newly constructed approach road by the chief executive member NC Hills Autonomous Council Sri Debolal Gorlosa on Friday.

Earlier the villagers had to travel two hours on foot to reach the Thaijuari market for selling their produce and to collect their essentials. In absence of road they had to carry patients to reach hospital in any emergency. People were in demand of an approach road since the establishment of the village in 1970.

The approach road is constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojona at a cost of Rs 338.73 lakh with 4.673 km funded by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.

The chief executive member NC Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa in presence of Ranu Langthasa, Chair Person, Nandita Gorlosa, Executive Member, Ratan Jarambusa, MAC and government officials also inaugurated 'Baikho' (Traditiona dance practicing hall) and solar street light in the village.

Expressing his great satisfaction over the construction of approach road, Baikho, solar street light, football ground, Gaon Bura of the village Rinkomol Haphila said since the establishment of the village many political leaders made promises but never fulfilled their promises. The present leaders are in a habit to fulfill their promises therefore we are very happy.
