Villagers stage protest demanding immediate electrification in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The people of Obhota Sampora Baligaon under Borshamukh Gaon Panchayat of Dhakuakhana subdivision in Lakhimpur district staged strong protest on Tuesday demanding immediate electrification.

Notably, almost 30 families of the village are still deprived of electricity due to which the people of the village are not potent enough to avail the facilities of modern technological advancements. The flagship schemes adopted for total electrification in the State are still unable to touch the village located under Dhakuakhana LAC, which is the native constituency of State P&RD minister Naba Kumar Doley.

The deprived villagers could not keep back their resentment and were compelled to initiate the protest programme on Tuesday. By staging the protest, the protesters slammed the district administration, electricity department and the local MLA for their negligence towards the village.
