Vineet Bagaria Death Case: Sanjoy Sharma Surrenders Before Dibrugarh Court

Guwahati: In a major development in the Vineet Bagaria suicide case, one of the prime accused surrendered before the court in Dibrugarh on August 1.

According to reports, the accused had been absconding since the case came to the fore.

He has been identified as Sanjay Sharma while another accused in the case, Aziz Khan is still in hiding.

The police have so far arrested Nishant Sharma, Baidullah Khan and Samsula Khan in connection to the case.

Meanwhile, the court of the chief judicial magistrate Dibrugarh has remanded accused Sanjoy Sharma to judicial custody.

It may be mentioned that Vineet Bagaria, a well-known young animal activist, hung himself to death last month at his residence at Shani Mandir road in Assam's Dibrugarh.

His family members found him lying unconscious in his room and immediately rushed him to the hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead.

Prior to his death, Vineet had self-recorded a video where he accused Baidullah Khan, Sanjay Sharma and Nishant Sharma of physically and mentally torturing him and his family over a piece of rental property.

Tensions had been simmering between Vineet's family and Baidullah Khan for several years and both sides were at odds with each other.

According to some reports, Vineet's father had given space to Sanjay Sarma to run a business but he had given the space to Baidullah Khan.

Baidullah Khan opened a motorcycle spare parts shop in the allotted space after a few days.

Neighbours claimed that the motorcycle repair shop caused disturbance to the locals in the area.
