Violation of lockdown norms in Morigaon town

MORIGAON: Violating all lockdown guidelines and COVID protocol, people in large numbers thronged the market places in Morigaon town on Tuesday. Without wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, people were seen shopping in the market places. Shopkeepers have been asked to keep sanitizers at the entrance of their shops but this was also not followed. The conscious section of people has expressed fear that with a large number of people returning to Assam from other parts of the country, the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the State had spiked. In such a situation, if the people of Morigaon did not follow the safety guidelines, there were chances that the deadly coronavirus could spread rapidly and the result would be catastrophic for the district.
