DIBRUGARH: Tensions erupted at the Lahowal Block Congress Office as a violent clash broke out among party workers. A section of Congress members engaged in a heated confrontation with another group, resulting in chaos within the office premises.

The situation spiraled out of control when agitated workers stormed the office, vandalized furniture, and hurled obscene abuses. Senior leaders, including Congress veteran Bitul Talukdar, were present during the turmoil. Several women were also reportedly present at the time of the incident.

A video from the scene shows former Dibrugarh Development Authority Chairman Bitul Talukdar and others being publicly humiliated inside the office.

Police arrived at the location to bring the situation under control, though tensions reportedly remained high.

Block in-charge Bitul Talukdar later stated that the key individuals involved in the incident were suspended members Anil Dutta and Dhruba Matak, along with Akshay Gogoi. He further informed that Block President Lakheshwar Tigor had approached the police to formally lodge a complaint regarding the incident.
