Virtual Meet held on Strategies to Double Farmers' Income in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: To acquaint Krishi Sakhis under Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission Society (ASLRM) and women farmers with latest farming techniques, the District Agricultural Officer on Tuesday organized a virtual dialogue on 'Agriculture and Horticulture for the betterment of society' through Zoom.

In the virtual meet, 33 Krishi Sakhis and eight women farmers of Golaghat district participated. The primary agenda of the initiative was to create awareness about the strategies and interventions for doubling the farmers' income by 2022 and to ensure the nutritional security of farm families for Atmanirbhar Bharat.

On the occasion, the ADOs of Golaghat Circle, Bhaskar Phukan, Furkating Circle and Merapani Circle (i/c), Saptarisha Chetia, Sarupathar Circle, Kakumoni Saikia and Borpathar Circle, Anusmita Neog told the participants about different means and methods in order to enhance the quantum of production as well as productivity from their agricultural fields. They also threw light on different latest and scientific techniques, schemes of Department of Agriculture and APART Project to Krishi Sakhis and farmers. Abhishek Singha, Research Technician of APART, Golaghat acted as a liaison agent for the meet.
