Voter awareness drive carried out in 9 colleges in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: Voter awareness campaign was carried out in nine colleges of the Golaghat Election District (Khumtai LAC and Golaghat LAC) on Saturday under SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) Programme.

In this context, speech competitions were organized in nine colleges-

DR College, Jaya Gogoi College, HPB Girls' College, Commerce College, DKD College, Kamarbandha College, Melamora College and Doyang College. The theme was 'My vote is my democratic right'.

The competition events in the colleges were presided over by Election Officer, Assistant Commissioners, Circle Officers, officers from different departments- Handloom and Textiles, Agriculture. The awareness campaign drive was held under the initiative of in-charge of SVEEP CELL, DDC Orpah Buglary, ADC (Election), Moon Gogoi. Through this campaign, the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat district, Bibhash Ch. Modi has appealed to all for participation in the democratic exercise of casting vote in the forthcoming Assembly Election.
