Voter List Review Programme held in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: Along with the rest of India, the programme of reviewing the voter list has been going on in the district too since September 1. Additional DC (Elections) Sushanta Kumar Dutta said that the programme which will go on till October 15, was taken up by the office of the Election Officer, as per the orders of the Election Commission of India to correct the Voter List errors in the details of the voters and to enlist every eligible member of the family in the electoral rolls.

Under the programme, people can use many mediums including the mobile application named ‘Voter Helpline’, NVSP portal, voter helping centres of the offices of the circle officers of the district, voter helpline number 1950 (only for the differently abled people) and Arunodoi centres. People can check their own details as well as those of their family members, and if any correction was to be made, they can apply for the same along with the necessary documents immediately. Adding that the Election Commission of India was allowing the voters to correct all kinds of anomalies, if any, in their respective electoral details through the initiative, Dutta urged all the voters to come forward and avail the opportunity before October 15 through the user-friendly platforms. He also said that passport, driving license, Aadhar Card, Ration Card, identity cards issued by government and semi-government organizations, bank passbook and any document approved by the Election Commission of India would be accepted as proof of verification while submitting applications.
