Wall magazine competition held in Biswanath College

JAMUGURIHAT: As part of college week of Biswanath College, a wall magazine competition was organized among the students of various departments of the college on Thursday. A total of 18 departments of the college had taken part in the competition.

Swapna Bora Das, Principal of Chariali Higher Secondary and MP School, and Anjan Baskota, Sahitya Akademi's Young Writers award winner, graced the competition as judges. Before the competition, a felicitation programme was carried out. Dr. Chintamoni Sarma, Principal of the college, addressed the gathering and briefed about the various activities that had been carried out for all-round development of the student fraternity. Both the judges, Swapna Bora Das and Anjan Baskota delivered motivational speeches to encourage students in creative art. Out of the 18 departments, the History department of college captured the first position while the Assamese and Physics department secured second and third position respectively. The Chemistry department of Biswanath College was awarded a special prize by the jury members. All the proceedings of the competition were conducted by Hrittik Sarma, magazine secretary of the college union. The competition was also attended by the Vice-Principal of the college along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
