DOOMDOOMA: The wall magazine 'Magnolia' brought out by the English Department of Bir Raghav Moran Government Model (BRMGM) College, Doomdooma for the first time was inaugurated by journalist and former president of Assam Science Writers' Association (ASWA) Dhiren Deka in the presence of the principal of the college Dr Amarjit Saikia recently. The theme of the wall magazine was: 'Save Nature, Save Earth.'

Speaking on the theme of the wall magazine, chief guest Deka briefly explained the causes of climate change which was largely man-made and its adverse effects on our mother earth. He referred to COP - 26 (Conference of Parties) conference held at Glasgow, Scotland where 197 countries signed the 'Glassgo Climate Pact' and explained the significance of awarding Nobel prize in Physics for 2021 jointly to three scientists for doing important research on climate change.

Principal Dr Amarjit Saikia also exhorted the students to become environmentally conscious and advised them to plant tree samplings inside the college campus as a remedial measure for climate change.

The programme was anchored by Abhilasha Phukan and Anwesha Gogoi, the faculty of the English Department. The magazine was edited by Robert Sawra. The programme was well attended by the students of the college and came to an end with the offering of a vote of thanks by a student Rober Kumar.
