Ward boy of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital arrested

BARPETA: A ward boy of the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) named Gunabhi Das was arrested for taking money from a patient who is an Ayushman Bharat card holder. Prakash Sutradhar of Bijni, Chirang district was admitted at FAAMCH for appendicitis operation on October 19. As Prakash Sutradhar is an Ayushman Bharat card holder, he should get medical treatment and medicines free of cost.

But Gunabhi Das allegedly took Rs 1,700 from the family members of Prakash Sutradhar for medicines. The family of Prakash Sutradhar lodged an FIR against Gunabhi Das and police of Barpeta Sadar police station arrested him on the basis of that FIR, stated Ranjan Doley, OC, Barpeta.
