Watch CCTV Footage: Miscreants loot sweet shop in Karimganj Town

Karimganj: Two unidentified miscreants allegedly loot cash from a sweet shop (Devdut) in Karimganj Town on Wednesday evening.

As per the police report, the shop owner identified as Rupak Deb was winding up for the day as it was already 10 pm in the evening hours.

In the meantime, two unidentified people entered inside the shop and were involved in a lengthy chat with the shop owner Rupak Deb.

One of the unidentified people had also asked for a favour from the owner of the shop by allowing him to charge his mobile phone.

It was all normal, as many people in the shop accessed this opportunity earlier, claimed the shop owner.

Meanwhile, the owner was looking into the accounts section and was calculating the entire cash collections of the day.

As per the CCTV footage, the owner kept the entire cash notes in a bag. The same bag was used for carrying the keys of the shop and mobile phone of the owner.

Meanwhile, taking the opportunity of the situation, one of the miscreants fled from the spot along with the cash bag.

It has also been reported that the other accomplice of the miscreant was waiting outside the shop and both of them escaped in a motorcycle later.

Furthermore, Karimganj Police had started an investigation in connection to the matter. A case was also registered at the Karimganj Police Station in this regard.

It may further be mentioned that so far no arrests have been made.
