Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika visits flood-hit embankment in Rangia

RANGIA: Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika on Tuesday visited flood-hit embankment of Puthimari River at Bagaribari under Rangia constituency and asked the departmental officers to restore the embankment with temporary measures. Along with local MLA and former minister Bhabesh Kalita, the minister visited the sites where the flood water breached the embankment at two places and submerged the greater Bagaribari area.

The minister also talked to the flood victims residing in the camps on the embankment and assured them of early restoration of the embankment. He also assured them that permanent restoration work will be done in the month of December. After Bagaribari, the minister visited camps of flood victims of Kamalpur constituency and talked to the residents out there. He expressed his happiness after talking to the people and getting to know that they were not facing any difficulty in the camps, stated a press release.
