Weather Report Predicts Heavy Showers In Guwahati Along With Rest of Assam

New Delhi: According to several weather reports, Central India and other parts of the country may experience fairly widespread rains after a low-pressure area and an associated cyclonic circulation was detected over Madhya Pradesh. The western part of the state is likely to witness heavy rains, with 50-80 mm daily rainfall on Friday.

The reports also mentioned that a fresh cyclonic circulation has been detected over the north Bay of Bengal which might result in heavy showers in parts of Assam and Meghalaya. Possible rainfall in other north-eastern states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and other parts of the region have been predicted.

In addition, very heavy rainfall has been predicted over parts of Madhya Pradesh, while heavy rains have been predicted in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West-Bengal & Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan.

Recently, it was reported that the flood which triggered the Brahmaputra valley in Assam has started reducing as the river is flowing below the danger level.

However, at least 24 endangered animals were killed in the floods in the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, as per the information provided by the officials. Officials of the KNP & TR said the 24 dead animals includes 17 hog deer, two rhinos, one wild buffalo, two swamp deer, a python and a cap langur. The forest personnel have so far rescued four animals, including a 10-day-old male endangered rhino calf from the outer fringe of the central range near Mihimukh highland.
