PATHSALA: Amid deep mourning and public outrage, friends and family of Samiul Haque, the 23-year-old victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident, gathered in large numbers at his residence in Nalbari to bid him a tearful farewell.
Samiul, a student at Nalbari Polytechnic, and a resident of Nalbari district, described by those close to him as sincere, humble, and hardworking, succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident involving Assamese actress Nandini Kashyap, who allegedly fled the scene after hitting him in Guwahati.
Samiul’s brother said, “My dada loved me a lot. I request Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to take strict action against the girl involved in the accident.”
“He was a hardworking and humble boy, always open and friendly with everyone. He worked tirelessly for his family and dreamed of seeing his younger brother succeed. We’ve lost a true friend. We want justice for him, and there should be no leniency for the accused,” said one of Samiul’s friends.
Meanwhile, locals of the area demanded justice and strict punishment for the accused.
