Wife Murdered for Illicit Affair In Assam's Charaideo, Two Held

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife for having an illicit affair with another man in the neighbourhood in Assam's Charaideo district.

Reportedly, the incident took place on Tuesday at the Kanu Tea Estate located in Charaideo district near the border area of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The man accused of murdering his wife was later identified as Rajiv Garh, 28-year-old, a resident of Sapekhati, Assam, while the wife was identified as Reema Garh, 27-year-old.

The wife was found sleeping with one person named Dhrup Kamakar who is 27-year-old.

According to reports, on Tuesday night, after finding his wife sleeping with Kamakar, the husband started beating her with a stick which resulted in a big brawl between Rajiv and his neighbour Dhrup but later Dhrup, somehow, succeeded in escaping.

The neighbour Dhrup later entered Garh's house out of anger carrying a sharp weapon along with him. He went to Garh's residence with the purpose of revenge and

during the fight, Garh's wife Reema got accidentally hit by Dhrup's weapon which resulted in her death.

The Sapekhati Police reached the murder spot and detained both Dhrup and Rajiv for being connected with the murder case of Reema Garh.

Such cases of extramarital affairs always result in huge violence leading to murder and the cases have been reportedly increasing in the state of Assam.

Earlier, the body parts of a woman named Anmita Gupta was recovered from Assam's Buragoan following her involvement in n extramarital affair. The accused woman Debjani Das had illicit affair with the deceased woman's husband as per reports.

She had brutally murdered Anmita and chopped the body into pieces and was later thrown by wrapping the body parts in a plastic bag.
