DONGKAMUKAM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun preparation to against win 26 out of 26 MAC constituencies like in the previous MAC election, under the leadership of Tuliram Ronghang, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). To show their strength for another record win, a mass joining programme was held by the saffron party at Artukekang near Dongkamukam, organized by BJP West Karbi Anglong District Committee (BJP WKADC).

As chief guest, CEM Tuliram Ronghang said that they would be apprising Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma about the border problems. "No inch of land will be given to others nor will we take an inch of land from others," he said.

He also highlighted the developmental activities done by his council and spoke about major upcoming projects such as airport and road projects. He slammed the All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) for creating confusion that non-tribals would be deleted from electoral rolls. "The first chairman of the Council in 1951 was non-ST so the Constitution of India does not permit to delete non-STs from electoral rolls in Sixth Schedule areas," he said.

MP of No. 3 Diphu (ST) Autonomous District Parliamentary Constituency, Horensing Bey in his speech said that during the pandemic the government had provided necessary aid and support to the people.

Altogether 2,096 people of the Opposition party joined the BJP on Thursday. Earlier in the day, the CEM laid the foundation stone for construction of Intermediate Lane Kheroni, Hawaipur Lamsakhang Road under RIDFXXVI of NABARD Scheme, in the presence of Dr Numal Momin, Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Horensing Bey, MP, MLAs Darsing Ronghang, Bidya Sing Engleng and Rupsing Teron and other dignitaries.
