Woman allegedly commits suicide in Ganeshpur, Jaisiddhi under Itakhola outpost
Mitali Devi, a 22-year-old woman and wife of Divyajyoti Nath, allegedly committed suicide in Ganeshpur, Jaisiddhi under Itakhola outpost on Tuesday.

JAMUGURIHAT: Mitali Devi, a 22-year-old woman and wife of Divyajyoti Nath, allegedly committed suicide in Ganeshpur, Jaisiddhi under Itakhola outpost on Tuesday.
According to family sources, Divyajyoti Nath had deposited Rs 500 from his earnings of Rs 1,700 with his wife Mitali Devi and went for his motorcycle servicing. Divyajyoti had asked his wife to pay Rs 200 out of the Rs 500 to his father. But Mitali refused to pay the money to her father-in-law which led to an argument between husband and wife.
When he returned from servicing, he found Mitali hanging inside the house. Local people immediately informed Itakhola police about the incident. A team of Itakhola outpost headed by Bhaskar Jyoti Saikia, officer-in-charge of Itakhola, recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital. The victim's husband, Dibyajyoti Nath, was arrested on charges of premeditated murder on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's parents today. It is suspected that Mitali committed suicide after being harassed by Divyajyoti. The post-mortem report is expected to reveal the truth, said a police official.
