Women & child trafficker arrested at Misamari gaon

Biswanath Chariali: Acting on a tip-off, one Arunachali person named Pai Tayeng (45), son of Tage Tayeng of Sangloputu No.1 (Papunalah) village under Naharlagun Police Station in Papumpare district of Arunachal Pradesh and currently residing at Misamari gaon under Helem PS in Biswanath district, was apprehended by police on Monday evening. Based on his statement, another four persons - Md Akbar Ali alias Munna (32) of Misamari, Ruhit Munda (22) of Misamari Gaon (Pachim) and Ratan Bhumij (35) of Khelmati Pathar (Bhimdonga) were subsequently picked up. They had been allegedly involved in women and child trafficking cases for a long time. They lure poor parents by paying some money and later children and women are sold to the people of Arunachal Pradesh through Pai Tayeng, which earns them around Rs 1 lakh per victim. All the four accused were arrested in connection with Behali Police Station case no. 32/2020 U/S 370(1)/34 of IPC. They have been remanded to police custody for 10 days for further interrogation and investigation.
