‘Women have United against Government’s Anti-labor Policies’: NFRMU

Bongaigaon: “Women power is the symbol of a strong organization,” said Madhumita Dey, secretary of N F Railway Mazdoor Union Woman Committee, on Thursday in New Bongaigaon while delivering a speech in the open meeting of the first divisional convention of NFRMU Rangiya Division Woman Committee.

She said that women had become united under the banner of NFRMU to protest against the government’s anti-labor policies. “We are united now and will never let the government work against the interest of working class people. If the government tries to do that then it will be time to oust this government from power,” she said.

The first convention started with flag hoisting by Oleswari Brahma, president of NFRMU women committee of New Bongaigaon branch, which had been followed by tribute paying by Nilima Biswas, president of NFRMU women committee of Bongaigaon branch. Tree plantation was done by central leader Sumana Banerjee. In the evening, the open meeting was presided over by Nilima Biswas. The Rangiya divisional committee for the year 2019-21 was formed with Priyalata Sonowal as president and Mamoni Seal as secretary.
