Under such circumstances, one more worker, named Jitu Hatibaruah, resident of Parbatipur of Gerukamukh area under Gogamukh Police Station died at SLHP on June 6. On that day, a part of the 2nd Head Race Tunnel (intake structure) of the project collapsed suddenly. As a result of it, Jitu also died at the spot.
A otal of nine workers have allegedly died at SLHP site within the last 12 months. The workers have demanded the authority of the SLHP and other contractor organizations to secure their life in the work sites of the project.
