KHERONI: A one-day workshop highlighting key flagship programmes of the Government of India (GoI) was successfully concluded at Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Kheroni Chariali, West Karbi Anglong. Organized by My Bharat: Mera Yuva Bharat, Diphu, Karbi Anglong, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI, in collaboration with the Subaltern Development Club (NGO), the event aimed to raise awareness among youth about government initiatives driving national development.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 70 students, teachers, and youth leaders from various localities. Resource persons and special guests, including Birendra Chauhan, Lecturer, and Narayan Chetry, Lecturer, were warmly felicitated with the traditional Gamosas as a token of respect and appreciation.

The event featured insightful sessions by distinguished educators and professionals, each focusing on a flagship programme:

Skill India Mission: Dr Surya Newar, HoD of Political Science, and Nayan Bharati, CEO of Deodhani Technologies Pvt. Ltd., jointly emphasized the importance of skill development and vocational training to enhance youth employability. Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM): Dr Rajesh Chauhan, Assistant Professor, highlighted the mission’s goal of providing safe and adequate drinking water through household tap connections in rural India.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY): Bharat Sahu, Assistant Teacher at PGHT High School, explained how the scheme supports small and medium entrepreneurs through micro-financing.

Swachh Bharat Mission: Chhotelal Chauhan, Assistant Professor at Kapili College, underscored the significance of sanitation, hygiene, and community participation in maintaining cleanliness. Digital India Initiative: Jeetendra Harijan, Vice-Principal at Kapili College, showcased how digital technology is transforming governance, education, and public service delivery nationwide.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session, where students engaged with resource persons, asking questions and sharing perspectives on grassroots implementation of these programmes. The event not only educated participants about national schemes but also inspired them to actively contribute to nation-building.
