Workshop on green building, GRIHA rating, and zero emission campus

TEZPUR: HQ CWE Tezpur, raised on October 29, 1962, is the Dist HQ of Military Engineer Services based at Solmara Cantt. The office is strategically co-located with HQ 4 Corps and plays a pivotal role in providing MES Works cover to various units under HQ 4 Corps, Tezpur.

In line with PM's vision for the country achieving the ambitious 'Net-Zero Target' by 2070, a comprehensive workshop-cum-training programme on green building, GRIHA rating system, and carbon neutral campuses was organized by HQ Commander Works Engineers, Tezpur on July 10. Facilitated by experts in the field, the one-day training programme aimed to generate awareness, sensitize and equip MES executives, officers and staff under AOR of CWE Tezpur with the requisite knowledge and skills essential to plan and implement green buildings in various MES construction projects.

The programme covered several important topics, including an in-depth session on green building concepts and principles, along with a comprehensive overview of the GRIHA rating system and its associated benefits. It also explored various strategies for achieving a carbon-neutral campus. Participants were presented with case studies and best practices from existing green buildings and campuses to illustrate real-world applications. Additionally, the session highlighted MES policy provisions related to the implementation of green buildings.
