Workshop on uses of laboratory equipment held in Nagaon
The Department of Chemistry, in association with Department of Physics, Dhing College, Nagaon, organized a workshop on uses of laboratory equipment at the college premises

NAGAON: The Department of Chemistry, in association with Department of Physics, Dhing College, Nagaon, organized a workshop on uses of laboratory equipment at the college premises on Friday.
Dr Biman Hazarika, principal of the college, inaugurated the workshop. In his inaugural speech, Dr Hazarika laid stress on the regular use of important machines such as UV visible spectrophotometer, flame photometer, digital PH meter, digital conducto meter as well as other equipment so that each of the student could be accustomed with such instruments so far.
He, however, said that uses of laboratory equipment could help them in further studies in researchable work in far future too. The workshop was chaired by Dr Mukut Moni Saikia, Head of the Department of Chemistry, while Dr D Debnath, Head of the Department of Physics, was present as the faculty member. Nabadeep Kalita, research scholar, department of chemistry, Gauhati University, attended the workshop as the main resource person. In the technical sessions, resource person Kalita asserted the theory of spectrophotometry and elaborated it with demonstration of spectrophotometer.
All the dignitaries who attended the workshop were felicitated by Nishita Bhuyan and Sagarika Das from the Department of Chemistry.
On the other hand, a seminar on 'ICSI courses on economic development' was also organized by the Department of Commerce, Dhing College at the college premises a few days back on virtual mode. The webinar was ceremonially inaugurated by Dr Biman Hazarika, Principal of the college. Shakshi Munoth, assistant professor, Department of Commerce, as keynote speaker threw light on how to become a company secretary (CS) while another keynote speaker, CS Harish Baid laid stress on startup scheme, Make in India scheme as well as on the role of a company secretary in such schemes. The entire programme was coordinated by Mujahidul Islam, assistant professor, Department of Commerce, Dhing College.
