World Autism Awareness Day observed at Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: Synchronizing with the worldwide celebration of 'Autism Awareness Day' - an annual event on April 2 with the aim to spread awareness of autism and emphasize the resilience of those affected by the disorder, Mangaldai Mahila Kalyan Samaj, a premier organization for women empowerment celebrated the day with the theme for World Autism Awareness Day, 'Inclusive Quality Education for All'. The day-long program was organized at Kosturi Shishu Griha here at Mangaldai.

Social activist Annie Deka Bhuyan inaugurated the celebration by liWorld Autism Awareness Day , Mangaldai.,Annie Deka Bhuyanghting a lamp in a traditional way. Industrialist Anupam Deka, lecturer of Deomornoi B Ed College Rajashree Sarma Mishra, associate lecturer of Mangaldai College Debashree Kakoty, young social activist Darshana Mazumdar, Gokul Baishya of 'Ramdhenu', blood donor Shekhar Mazumdar and AASU activist Niranjan Saikia taking part in the function highlighted on autism and the role of the society in taking care of the persons affected with this syndrome. At the function, a class X standard student affected by autism was offered a gift items. In her speech Rasmi Rekha Sarma of Mangaldai Mahila Kalyan Samaj highlighted the activities of the organization with special emphasis on creating awareness on autism.
