World Cerebral Palsy Day observed By Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra

LAKHIMPUR: Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra of Lakhimpur observed the World Cerebral Palsy Day on October 6 for the second time in association with Saumarjyoti Publication.

On this occasion, the institution organized an awareness meeting in the Town Model LP School premises with a view to sensitize the people about the welfare of cerebral palsy-affected children and persons. Eminent social activist and writer Uday Sankar Hazarika chaired the awareness meeting-cum- open session of the event wherein the Joint Director of Lakhimpur District Health Services, Dr Harpal Singh Suri and Associate Professor of Assam Medical College and Hospitals, Dr Srimanta Madhab Borah took part as resource persons.

Director of the institution, Jiten Baruah explained the objective of the programme. In the same programme, a book titled Maa Moi Khelibo Parimne, authored by Dr. Binita Borah on cerebral palsy, was released by journalist Jitumoni Neog. Moreover, some scenes of the documentary Jivanar Rang Bisari, produced by Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra, portraying the agony and affliction of cerebral palsy-affected children and persons as its core subject, were screened during the programme. Director Pankaj Sabhapandit sketched the development scenario of the shooting of the documentary.
