BARPETA: Manas National Park celebrated World Elephant Day as well as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th anniversary of the country's independence.

On Saturday, on the occasion of World Elephant Day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the national park authority organized a rally riding on elephants' backs waving the National Flag. The panoramic scene of this rally captivated everyone. Apart from this, on the occasion of World Elephant Day, 56 elephants of the national park were given health a check-up and vaccines and various fruits were provided by the concerned authorities. Manas National Park currently has 2613 wild elephants, said Vaibhav C Mathur, Project Director of the park.
