Tezpur: Tezpur Photography Club observed World Photography Day at the Asomiya Club premises in Tezpur. The Tezpur Photography Club was formed in 2013 under the aegis of veteran and eminent photographers and it has been observing the World Photography Day since its inception. The programme ‘PIXOMEET-2018’ is basically for outstanding collection of photographs which have been displayed in the exhibition which started on Sunday and will conclude tomorrow.

The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, Darrak Ullah, Additional District and Session Judge, Sonitpur, and he said that the day was observed to honour the invention of the Daguerreotype photographic process which was invented by Nicephore Niepce and Lowis Daguerre in the year 1839. Ullah further said that taking a costly camera in hand and clicking photos does not mean being a photographer in the true sense.

Photography in proper sense should emerge from the heart and creative mind to capture natural facts. He further added that photography could make sense by expressing history, even poetry and giving a clear view of the aspects. “No matter who you are, where you are or what equipment and skills you have, World Photography Day can help open your eyes to the possibilities of photography, and enable you to share the world as you see it,” Ullah added.
