World Population Day observed in Udalguri with Focus on Maternal and Child Health

DHEKIAJULI: Like many other parts of the state, the World Population Day was observed with much significance in Udalguri district on Friday. The theme for this year's celebration was 'Ensure proper age and spacing of pregnancy for maternal and child health.' The district-level programme was organized by the District Health Society at the Udalguri Civil Hospital. The event was formally inaugurated by the Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Jitendra Kumar Saharia, who emphasized the importance of family planning in ensuring a healthy future for both mothers and children. The programme witnessed the presence of key health officials including Dr Arindam Bora, National Health Mission representatives Ajay Kalita, Madhusmita Baishya, Anchula Basumatary, Bension Dale, Sanjay Kujur, Kandarp Kalita, Ansai Daimari, and Chumki Daimari. Staff nurses, ASHA workers, and local beneficiaries also actively participated in the event.
