With the rest of the country, the World Water Day was observed on Monday at Subankhata High English School near the Indo-Bhutan border in Baksa district.

GORESWAR: With the rest of the country, the World Water Day was observed on Monday at Subankhata High English School near the Indo-Bhutan border in Baksa district. The district-level programme was organized by Baksa district Water and Sanitation Committee with a day-long programme. The programme included a cleanliness drive, demonstrations on compost pit and eco bricks, quiz competition among various schools, awareness meet on water-borne diseases and the value of potable water.

Prabir Kumar Adhikari, Executive Engineer of Baksa PHE division attended the programme and delivered his lecture on pure drinking water. He also presented the prizes among students.

Rituraj Choudhury, Baksa division TC, Gitika Muchahary, IEC coordinator of JJM, Debajit Borah, Baksa district Eco club coordinator and the teachers of the school took part in the programme,among others.

The awareness programme was chaired by Debajit Borah.
