Xaradi Sandhiya Junaki Mel held at Charing in Sivasagar
A section of poetry lovers assembled recently at the residence of Nikhil Saikia, a prominent cultural activist of Charing Baruwati village on the outskirts of Gaurisagar in Sivasagar.

GAURISAGAR: A section of poetry lovers assembled recently at the residence of Nikhil Saikia, a prominent cultural activist of Charing Baruwati village on the outskirts of Gaurisagar in Sivasagar. The programme was anchored by Pranjal Protim Borah, noted poet and Assistant Professor, Jhanji HNS College. The other dignitaries present in the function included Prasanta Kumar Nath, Secretary, Sivasagar Zila Kavi Sanmilani, Dr.Ranjit Kumar Baruah, Principal, Dikhowmukh College, and Rajib Dutta, journalist and secretary, Jhanji Press Club
In the function, noted poet Anurag Mahanta alias Jibon Krishna Goswami, Prakash Kakoty, Prasanta Nath, Biju Borthakur, Tulumoni Borpatra Gohain, Dushmanta Madhab Baruah, Anindita Batchayan, Nikhil Saikia, Bidyut Bikash Baruah, Manash Protim Borah and Dimpee Chutia recited their poems. On the other hand, artist Mahanonda Guwala, Dr.Ranjit Kumar Baruah, journalists Rajib Dutta, Podmaluchan Khanikar, Diganta Sarmah, social worker Monuj Kumar Lahon, Ajit Saikia, Rajen Phukan, Hemanga Ranjan Chutia, Assistant Professor, SMD College, Charing expressed their feelings. Earlier, the proramme started with lighting of earthen lamp lit by Bhuban Chutia, a social worker.
