Young Farmer Monoj Bora inspires youths to become Self-dependent

MERAPANI: Monoj Bora (37), son of Akaneswar Bora and Tarulata Bora of no.2 Ratanpur village under Merapani subdivision, has drawn the attention of the new generation towards cultivation and trade.

Talking to mediapersons, the young farmer said that he did not take up any government job and instead decide to become self-independent by taking up cultivation. He started paddy cultivation in his own land with the traditional process. Later, he started using modern methods of cultivation. Soon, he decided to adopt the multi-farming method of fish production and animal husbandry.

Through fish farming, he earns a large amount of money every year. Monoj Bora is the person who introduced the multi-farming process in the area. Besides, along with farming, he has opened a dairy farm too. Talking to The Sentinel, Monoj said that seeing the huge demand for dairy products, he decided to open the dairy farm in a small stage at first but would expand it later.

The young farmer produces both Kharif and Rabi crops in his land. He is earning well and seeing his prosperity, the educated youths of the area have been inspired to become self-dependent by taking up farming.
