Youth apprehended for posting objectionable photos of Modi, Shah

Kokrajhar: A youth of Fakiragram in Kokrajhar district was apprehended on Tuesday after posting objectionable photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Sources from the Kokrajhar SP office said that on August 13 they noticed that some highly objectionable and derogatory contents/links as well as morphed photographs of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah being displayed/shared through online social media portals.

On the basis of this information, Fakiragram PS Case No: 98/2019 U/S 120(B)/153/153(A)/294/506 IPC R/W Sec. 66 IT Act, 2000 was registered.

During detail investigation corroborated by technical analysis, it was found that Aziyar Rahman, son of Md. Nurjamal Sheikh of village Singimari under Fakiragram PS of Kokrajhar district had uploaded and shared such objectionable contents/photos on his Facebook account. The Kokrajhar Police carried out a search operation and subsequently the accused youth, Aziyar Rahman was apprehended from Shakti Ashram market area under Fakiragram PS of Kokrajhar. On spot interrogation, he admitted that he was the sole administrator of the Facebook account and had uploaded as well as shared objectionable and derogatory contents/photos in his timeline. He was brought to Fakiragram PS for detailed interrogation. Police seized one MI Note 5 mobile handset and two SIM cards from his possession. After interrogation, he was arrested on Tuesday evening.
