Youth dies in Dhakuakhana due to snake bite

LAKHIMPUR: One youth met with tragic death due to snake-bite in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district on Thursday. He has been identified as Bhaktaram Payeng, resident of Alimur village under Mornoi Bebejia area under Ghilamora Police Station.

As per report found, the youth on Wednesday entertained the local public with a snake which he had caught in the house of a person living at a nearby village. During that time, the venomous snake bit him in several parts of his body. He then underwent treatment of a local quack. But he did not recover and later he was shifted to the hospital. He died on the way. The youth used to catch snakes seen in the local households and release them in safe places.
