Youth killed in road mishap at Tamulpur

Tamulpur: On Saturday evening, one youth was killed in a road accident at Tamulpur on the Tamulpur-Nagrijuli -Udalguri road. The deceased youth has been identified as Pankaj Mandal (28), son of Charan Mandal of village Ahiyabari under Tamulpur Police Station in the district of Baksa.
According to eye witness, a high-speed tractor with trailer was moving towards Kachubari village from Tamulpur and suddenly the tractor turned towards Ghogmari village from the main road without giving any signal light. At that time, a bike (AS-25-N-3128), which was going towards Ahiyabari village from Tamulpur, tried to overtake the tractor. As the tractor did not give any signal and turned suddenly, the bike hit the tractor.
Pankaj, who was riding the bike, fell and injured his head. He died on the spot. Receiving information from local people, a team from Tamulpur police station rushed to the spot and recovered the body. On Sunday, the body was sent for post-mortem to Mushalpur. Pankaj was a CRPF jawan. He came home in leave. On Saturday he came to Tamulpur for shopping and on the way of home the accident took place.
