Youth kills mother for mobile phone in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: A youth allegedly murdered his mother with a sharp weapon following a quarrel to buy a new mobile phone. The incident took place at Changmai Gaon under Lahowal police station in Dibrugarh on Tuesday night. According to police, Jintu Das killed his mother Renu Das with a sharp weapon on Tuesday night following a quarrel to buy a new mobile phone. "After killing his mother, he took away Rs 16,000 and ran away. We have started our investigation and today we arrested him from his hiding place. He was hiding at Chandmari Ghat in Paltan Bazar in Dibrugarh. He has been sent to jail," said a police official.
