CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that Sleuths of Chief Minister's Vigilance cell shall keep a close eye and arrest any broker if found in circle offices. He had also asked officers to refrain from working with land brokers and directly address public grievances.
Continuing his tirade against the malpractice of land 'Dalals' he had specifically asked officers to clear all land-related files every Friday particularly those seeking permission to sell land.
Further, he had also informed about the state government's flagship Mission Baxundhara - a mission dedicated to land related services including mutation, correction of names, sale permission, reclassification of lands, updating land records etc. "This mission will be launched from October 2",he said.
Adding on Assam CM said that under this mission about four lakh eksonia lands will get pattas. He also cautioned that 1,250 villages(non-cadastral) with no map records will face hiccups in implementation.
Expressing disappointment on the plight of the people for inadequate services related to land registration, he had questioned the officers to deal directly with the people for processes like correcting the names in land records.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had also suggested video conferencing in the hereditary mutation of land in case if the person concerned is not able to come to Assam including Non-resident Indians.
The nexus between land 'Dalals' and circle officers often causes a delay in services related to land in Assam, such corrupt practices have led to a large volume of work pending in offices. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had asked officers to work for the public and break ties with brokers.
