Assam's 28th COVID-19 positive patient shifted to ICU as health worsens

GUWAHATI: Assam's 28th COVID-19 patient's health has worsened and he is being shifted to ICU, informed Assam Health Minister Himanta Biwa Sarma through a tweet.

Assam COVID-19 positive cases had reached 28 on April 7 as the presence of the deadly virus was found in a person from Hailakandi. Informing this Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Tuesday tweeted, “A person from Hailakandi with a travel history to Saudi Arabia has been confirmed positive for COVID-19. The total number of Coronavirus cases in Assam is now 28.” Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that this case along with the majority of these cases has been linked with the controversial religious congregation held in South Delhi’s Nizamuddin Dargah last month.
