22 banks of Cachar to help MSME beneficiaries

Silchar: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, a branch of the Government of India, is the apex body for the formulation and administration of rules, regulations and laws relating to micro, small and medium enterprises in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a meeting held in New Delhi selected 80 districts of this country which will get the benefits of the scheme. Out of these 80 districts, Cachar is one of the districts. Rural people engaged in handicraft and small works related to skill development will get benefit of the scheme.

They can avail loan which will be certified by the forest department. A committee comprising 5 to 10 members was formed at a recently held meeting at Lakhipur forest office. The meeting, organized by the forest department of Lakhipur, was attended by managers of as many as 22 banks of Cachar district. A total number of 40 committees will be formed in Lakhipur sub division which will monitor the process of enrolling the beneficiaries and also create awareness among them regarding the benefits of the scheme.

Range officer Debashish Chakraborty put forth the purpose of the all-important meeting. Managers of SBI, Lead Bank, United Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Bandhan Bank, Vijaya Bank, Allahabad Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC, Syndicate Bank, Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Punjab and Sind Bank and Federal Bank etc attended the meeting. Forester Fakhrul Islam Barbhuiya will take the painstaking job of collecting forms and creating awareness.
