93rd birth anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba observed in Silchar

Silchar: Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, Silchar, under their noble initiative ‘Anapurna Amrit Kalasam’ distributed food materials for one month among the poor, distressed and differently abled people. The members of the organization distributed edibles on Friday at Sathya Sai Shanti Nilayam located at Circuit House road in Silchar. The event was organized to commemorate the 93rd birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. A number of events have been organized by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, Silchar as a part of their celebration. The birthday celebration which started on November 10 with singing of Sai hymns (Bhajans) continued till the next day.

This was followed by distributing blankets among 19 poor females on November 19 by the female members of the organization to mark ‘Shakti Swarupini Day.’ On Friday, the programme started with a procession wherein the devotees moved through the town of Silchar and sang hymns (Bhajans) and Kirtanas. This was followed by ‘Annapurna Amrit Kalasam’ programme. School going students sang Bhajans during this programme. Later, a documentary was shown on this occasion on the life and various other aspects of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Many other programmes were held on Saturday. This will be followed on Sunday also.

A blood donation camp was also held at the Sai temple Silchar on Saturday and on Sunday, they will devote their service at Kathal Road ‘Goshala’. Balvikas Bhajan started from 11 in the morning which was followed by Arati, cutting of cake by the students with Balvikas Guru. A procession was also taken out in the morning. Prasadam was also distributed at Itkhola Sathya Sai Bhajan Training Centre, Silchar. Amrita Kalasant was given to 9 members at Silchar Samirhi to the persons who are physically handicapped and blind. This heartwarming initiative was well appreciated by people. Devotees were seen making a beeline towards Sathya Sai Shanti Nilayam for early morning.
