Adult literacy centre established in Silchar

Silchar: Former UN General Kofi Annan once said, “Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope’. Keeping this in view, Rotary Club of Green Land Silchar inaugurated the first adult literacy centre for the Rotary Year 2018-19 on Sunday. 40 female participants were enrolled in the first batch for their literacy efforts. Jeibim Began Khan is the teacher who has been selected to teach them. The programme under Rotary’s TEACH mission was inaugurated with the collaborated efforts from Rising Youth Society, one of the vibrant NGOs of Barak Valley. The adult literacy centre (ALC) has been set up on an area lying in the outskirts of Silchar town.
